It is a lot to cope with the rollercoaster of the last decade and deep uncertainty of what is coming next. Over many years the quality and depth of the newsletter has ensured I am better informed, inspired and occasionally a little bit scared (in a good way mostly). The wonderful community has kept me sane - filled with intelligent, thoughful people who are curious, open and a joy to engage with...online and offline. Thank you Azeem, Maria, Chantal and anyone else involved.

Azeem, Marija, team EV! I am so grateful to you in so many ways. Starting with the obvious - the depth of the thinking shared in the newsletter is unmatched and I rely on it so much. The less obvious side is that through you I met amazing people, made some deep friendships and also had the opportunity to join a deep tech company and now see it become part of the leader in its field! Thank you once again and I am so looking forward to what's next for EV!

For me, Exponential View represents two things:

- People with an incredible passion for innovation, which I truly love to see

- Interdisciplinary collaboration, with individuals from diverse backgrounds working together on the bigger picture

Thank you so much, Azeem, for creating such an inspiring community!

And thank you Marija, for your passion and dedication!

Clearly we aren't short of things to read on the internet nowadays, so its a rare newsletter that is an instant click when it arrives in the inbox. Exponential View is one of those exceptions - and one that I've come to rely upon to help me navigate a complex and uncertain world in a way that isn't too partisan. I also appreciate its ability to surface insights and offer detailed analysis in completely unfamiliar domains. The recent essay on the potential societal impact of GLP-1 agonists was an excellent example.

In early 2016, Sonal Chokshi mentioned Exponential View as one of her favorite newsletters while on an a16z podcast she was hosting. I subscribed, and tucking into the newsletter on a Sunday morning with my coffee and a pastry became a favorite indulgence. It made me feel informed and inspired by the wide range of developments and ideas the newsletter covered. I was flattered to be invited to the community and get to read and participate in conversations with such an interesting, global group of subscribers. When my first child was born, my Sunday mornings were no longer my own. Exponential View and other attention-worthy publications like The New Yorker began piling up, only occasionally opened. I kept coming back to the newsletter and the community at key points in my career or in the world when I needed to make sense of what was changing, to get up to speed, succinctly and thoughtfully. One of those times is now and I am grateful to know where to turn.

Azeem, Marija, and the EV team always make developments on the cutting edge accessible--I learn so much from every newsletter (and am reminded by each edition that I really ought to host more dinner parties). But I find the community that the EV team has curated to be just as thought-provoking: it's a great example of Sara Wilson's concept of 'digital campfires'--a microcommunity of shared interests and civil discourse. It's more appealing than ever right now...

EV has become a significant "layer of perceptrons" in the collective brain that helps me innovate on future-of-work. Because of my angle of collective intelligence, that means EV is now a central element of my operating system. Your principled curation and structuring work functions as enablement (fast thinking, immediately applicable) and learning (slow thinking, building cognitive responses for broader, later problems) for me. And your community is a very helpful source of ideas and debate. Thanks to you and the team!

I've found the Exponential View community to be knowledgeable, thoughtful, supportive. I've learned a lot from a wide range of people in different fields to my own. I've also met online and in-person community members in London and New York. The discussions and interaction have helped me hone my capacity to manage the exponential pace of the world, and apply what influence I have to nudge it in a positive direction. Thanks for convening us, Azeem, and the original invite!

I think there are events, people, and writing that crystallize the zeitgeist. EV in the beginning was just the warmup of what people experienced with covid and the explosion of machine intelligence. Especially with covid the world of politics at large discovered the effect of exponential curves in real life (and death) situations. But like exponents, the best is yet to come.

Congrats to the whole team on the milestone. I’ve benefitted hugely from the learning, from the community, from the inspiration offered by EV and more. I really appreciate the intellectual honesty, the cognitive density, the commitment to experimentation, and the social responsibility EV brings to the world. It’s been an honor to be an occasional collaborator, I’ve made some really inspiring friends, and EV is where I refer the smartest, kindest, most globally minded people I know. Thank you!

If there's one thing I make time to read in my busy week, it's the Exponential View newsletter. While I'm an AI practitioner, I don't just gravitate toward AI-focused newsletters. What I love about Exponential View is how it provides insights into the broader technology landscape. We live in an interconnected world where different facets of technology shape each other's future, and it's critical to maintain knowledge of the bigger picture.

And then Azeem and Marija have created this amazing community! The Exponential View attracts some of the most intelligent minds I've encountered, yet what strikes me most is people’s humility and kindness. Unlike many tech spaces, there's no need for ego or showmanship here. As a minority female leader in tech, finding a community where I feel genuinely welcomed and valued is invaluable. It's not just the brightest community I've been part of – it's also a community which truly values substance and curiosity.

Azeem and team, I am a rather new subscriber and I really enjoy reading your updates and weekly newsletter. It gives me the opportunity to access information I have no time to collect by myself. What I do enjoy the most is that you also add a dimension through your in-depth analysis and reflection on ideas and innovations and they way it impact humans and society. Thanks for a great job!

Oh wow this message got me to check my inbox. Looks like the first EV newsletter I have is from May 2016.

I wonder how much bleaker my outlook for the future would be without this.

i appreciate the newsletter in that it keeps me informed of what is changing in the world, particularly with the introduction of AI. outside of generative AI that is public facing, i have learned that there is an entire world of B2B in which LLM's interface with agents which interface with databases, thus allows management actionable insights into the function of the company, avoiding layers of politics which hampers efficiency. regarding public facing generative AI, i have learned of different applications which can be used creatively. i have learned that i have been hampered by my own lack of imagination.

I think I have ended up learning how to take my mental blinkers off when I need to. While I have never been a sheep or followed the herd in any major way, it took a tech conference in March 2016 and then EV to open my eyes to seeing beyond a 2^2 step. I particularly remember one series of dimensional thinking that covered the nexus of electric, self-driving and ride-sharing vehicle models (2^3 thinking) and seeing this slowly pan out is very interesting. I really enjoy the clarity EV brings to complex subjects.

But this can be a lonely place, many people prefer to keep the blinkers on, many people prefer linearity.
