Good morning! Later this week, we’ll send out the 500th edition of the Sunday newsletter. A single email I sent to 20 friends in March 2015 kicked off the whole thing that became Exponential View. Initially, I called it Square 33 – in the chessboard-rice analogy of exponential growth, the first half of the chessboard (the first 32 squares) involves relatively modest numbers that don’t feel world-changing. But crossing into the 33rd square marks the beginning of numbers that seem staggering and incomprehensible.
I’m reflecting this week on the lessons I learnt along the way. I’ll send a personal note to all members on Saturday. And in the meantime, I want to hear from you:
What did you learn from reading Exponential View?
If Exponential View helped you in your thinking and work, tell us about it.
If you met a co-founder, investor or a new friend through our network, please share the story.Â
And if you’re a new member, tell us what brought you to Exponential View.
Thank you for being an important part of Exponential View.
Azeem
It is a lot to cope with the rollercoaster of the last decade and deep uncertainty of what is coming next. Over many years the quality and depth of the newsletter has ensured I am better informed, inspired and occasionally a little bit scared (in a good way mostly). The wonderful community has kept me sane - filled with intelligent, thoughful people who are curious, open and a joy to engage with...online and offline. Thank you Azeem, Maria, Chantal and anyone else involved.
Azeem, Marija, team EV! I am so grateful to you in so many ways. Starting with the obvious - the depth of the thinking shared in the newsletter is unmatched and I rely on it so much. The less obvious side is that through you I met amazing people, made some deep friendships and also had the opportunity to join a deep tech company and now see it become part of the leader in its field! Thank you once again and I am so looking forward to what's next for EV!
