Sorry responding to the least relevant (in the bigger picture) piece, how come your sleep improved so much? Were you checking Instagram in bed before sleep?
I would certainly check my phone within 10-20 mins before going to bed - might be IG related or something triggered from IG. (eg seeing a particularly movement form and then jumping into Google or Youtube to go deeper into it.)
Now on 6 days out of 7 there is no screen use at least 45 minutes before bed.
Also, when i have casual time, instead of flicking to IG, I might read a paper (academic) or analysis or news or just look out the window into the garden.
i only really started using IG last autumn anyway, otherwise was very sporadic on it. i haven’t missed it at all.
I hope richer data sources, sensors v. words, get more attention. LeCun and robotics researchers are both worth a lot of attention.
