Researcher (Full-time or part-time)
Exponential View is a trends-oriented research group focussing on the impact of AI and exponential technologies. The Exponential View newsletter and podcast serve as a vital resource for those looking to understand and navigate the complexities of our near future. Are you passionate about understanding and explaining the technologies shaping our world? Exponential View is looking for a talented researcher to join our small, dynamic team. This is an opportunity to be at the forefront of analyzing the Exponential Age—especially AI, energy transition and other emerging technologies—and helping global leaders adapt.
What you’ll do:
Conduct in-depth quantitative and qualitative research on AI, energy transition and other emerging technologies, and their impact on the economy and society.
Write accessible, insightful briefs for a global audience, including founders, investors, technologists, executives and policy-makers.
Create and maintain quantitative databases for key technologies, tracking their development and forecasting future impact.
Adapt to different themes and technology sectors, with opportunities to specialize.
What we’re looking for:
2-3 years of professional experience.
Background in Economics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields.
Strong curiosity about technology and how our societies are evolving.
An active, keen learner with generalist tendencies.
Strong quantitative skills, combined with creative and critical thinking.
Good communicator.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with data visualization and coding are a plus but not required.

The kinds of things you’ll be working on:
Data analyst internship (business & research)
As an intern on our team, you’ll help uncover insights that shape our business growth and research. You will work closely with Exponential View’s Head of Growth and our Managing Director to:
Collect and analyse weekly, quarterly and monthly data to track business performance, identify trends, patterns and insights.
Create and maintain data reports and dashboards to track business performance and growth.
Conduct research to optimise growth experiments, track experiment performance, and help iterate towards improved outcomes.
Collect and analyse data to assess our other aspects of our performance, benchmark against industry trends, and conduct research to improve outcomes.
You will also work with our Researchers to:
Collect and analyse data on a variety of themes Exponential View researches including computation and AI, robotics, biotechnology, energy, social and economic impact of technology, etc.
Maintain existing databases that inform our analyses.
Anything else that may be required to finish ongoing projects.
Requirements:
You are currently pursuing a degree in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or a related field.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets.
Familiarity with statistical analysis tools and methodologies.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Commitment:
