Hi,

Long-time readers of my newsletter will know that we’ve discussed the topic of fair and ethical AI implementations consistently since 2015.

So I was excited to welcome Dr Rumman Chowdhury to discuss responsible AI at the second State of the Exponential member’s briefing. She is one of the world's foremost practitioners in the field, and leads the global responsible AI practice at Accenture. (Disclosure: I am a senior advisor to the CTO of Accenture.)

Trained as both a political scientist and data scientist, Rumman’s work in algorithmic fairness is widely recognised. In this briefing, Rumman, myself and dozens of EV members (thanks for joining!) discussed the ethical challenges that AI creates and how these can be solved using a mix of governance and technical solutions.
