Inventor Bill Gross presents a solution which could give renewables a significant advantage over fossil fuels

Inventor Bill Gross joined us for the fifth State of Exponential briefing to discuss how technology, innovation and computational power are developing as key drivers of a reduction in fossil fuels and a switch to renewables.

For many of us, Bill Gross, needs no introduction. He built the original internet incubator, Idealab, which gave rise to the fundamental business model of the Internet: performance-based advertising. I first met Bill in 1997 and have been in touch with him since then.

Bill’s interest in renewable energy was sparked by the 1973 energy crisis when he witnessed cars queuing for rationed gasoline. Next, as a 15-year-old entrepreneur, he set up a business selling small solar devices which paved the way for him to become an entrepreneur and inventor.
