Robots on the rise

The United Nations Industrialisation Report confirms many of our suspicions about robotisation worldwide. There is a key inflection point around 2011 in terms of robot density (which will also mask a much more rapid growth in robot use) China’s manufacturing productivity approximately doubled in the period 2011-2019. We can locate the epicentre of top-tier research in artificial intelligence. It is no major surprise that the United States continues to lead in this field. I’ll be curious to see what happens to Chinese students over the coming years – to what extent will America’s lead as the favoured destination soften? Via MacroPolo
