DEPARTMENT OF APPLE
A nation-sized economy
The Apple App Store has now become a $643bn economy, as measured by the billings of firms using it, according to The Analysis Group. This would make it the 21st largest ‘economy’ in the world, ahead of Argentina and just behind Switzerland. Billings grew 24% in 2020. Naïve extrapolation would put this “app economy” bigger than Canada and the 10th largest economy in the world by the end of 2025. Via The Analysis Group / Apple
