Hi, I’m Azeem Azhar. I convene Exponential View to help us understand how our societies and political economy will change under the force of rapidly accelerating technologies.
I have the unifi edgemax going on 2 years and can say it’s rock solid, super configurable, and fast. The UI is not great and there are some things that can only be accomplished on the command line (perm VPN tunnel using openVPN for example).
I want the core network to be 10GbE which has three locations in the house, garden shed and garden office. Trying to find decent 10GbE managed switches.
Then I need an edge router / firewall which will handle the load balancing and failover for the a internet connections.
As far as I can tell Unifiis behind on 10GbE kit compared to netgear and Microtek. There firewalls are rather lacking compared to the Vigor 3910.
I love the integration and GUI of Unifi but I think I need to have a mixed network.
Three Netgear Managed Switches for the 10GbE core network and the Vigor 3910 for the edge router/firewall/gateway/core switch.
It is more of a headache but I can’t see how I manage with Unifi kit given space, power and budget limitations. (Unifi can offer what I need but only with their carrier- grade 24 port switchesc afaict)
I don't get why digital currencies backed by central banks need crypto at all. Can't the government use plain old databases and avoid the energy waste and higher transaction costs?
There is an assumption that crypto automatically brings more security, but people would still need accounts and passwords just like today. Anyone care to enlighten me?

Thanks, Frank.
I actually realise I have two issues.

That Nathan Robinson piece on Elon Musk is gold.
