As the US economy closed down in March, “high-income households sharply reduced their spending, primarily on services that require in-person interactions.” In fact, the top 25% of earners cut their incomes the most and were responsible for “half of the decline in consumption.” My observation: it is remarkable that we can turn this granular analysis around so quickly.
