Mike Zelkind is the co-founder and CEO of 80 Acres Farms. He is at the vanguard of a movement to transform the inefficient and unsustainable food system. His vision is bold. It's a huge network of urban indoor farms that produce crops all year round for their local areas, all grown pesticide free, powered by renewable energy.
Now this is no bucolic fantasy, we're talking about climate-controlled, multi-storied buildings, bathed in purple LED light, where almost every aspect of a plant's life is informed by data.Â
