Agreed. I think the advantages of the megacities still far outweigh their disadvantages. COVID-19 is far from the first (epi|pan)demic humanity has faced and yet megacities continue to thrive. I do like the way a number of (mainly European?) cities are looking to take advantage of the current lockdown to make themselves greener & more livable.

European cities are teeny tiny tiddlers, of course. We need to watch Mexico, Apac and Africa to see how they develop.
