The Brexit process in an important moment in history. Whatever the proximate causes, it also reflects underlying tensions in the overall political-economic system that are related to the process of rapid technology change. Deep technology alters the landscape. This creates new winners and new losers, makes some people feel more valued, and others less valued. It is hard to unpick Brexit from the wider context of global change, fomented by a catalyst of information and financial technologies.Â
From that wider context, we have to deal with the realities of the Brexit process—where it stands and what possible future paths are.Â
